Gatsme Lines – Model RR Club

GATSME Lines is a local group of modelers that focuses on the railroads of Philadelphia and surrounding areas. They are a member of the National Model Railroad Association and meet twice a year to build models and share ideas with other modelers from the area.

Currently their largest layout is an HO scale railroad that features realistic wooded Pennsylvania scenery. It also includes a number of bridges and point-to-point operation.

Other members have constructed small HO scale layouts that show a variety of railroads from the early 1900’s to the 1970’s, including the Lehigh Valley Railroad, the Reading Railroad, and the Central Railroad of New Jersey.

The club’s membership is made up of both men and women, from a diverse range of backgrounds. They are all interested in the history and art of model railroading.

Their HO layout is based on the Lehigh Valley Railroad and stretches from West Portal NJ to Coxton PA. It also features the Reading Railroad from Quakertown to Behlehem and Harrisbur, and the Central Railroad of New Jersey from Elizbethport to Wilkes-Barre.

They have been building their HO layout since 2006. Their clubhouse was originally located in Oreland, but they moved to Fort Washington in 2013. The current location is a former mill building that was renovated by the club.

It is a large layout that is constantly changing and is custom built to N-Trak standards. The layout includes a wide variety of buildings and scenic structures.

Whether you are new to the hobby or have been model railroading for years, you will find that the museum has something for everyone. The museum’s goal is to educate the community on the history of model railroading and how it played an important role in the development of the region.

The museum is a nonprofit organization that focuses on the art and science of modeling and teaches how the real railroads impacted the development of the Philadelphia area. They open the museum to the public on the second Saturday of each month. The museum also hosts a variety of events to bring more people into the community and help them better understand the historical significance of model railroading.
