Sump Pump Installation
Most new homes come equipped with a sump pump. If your {city} home doesn't have one, you may or may not need one. Give us a call and we can help you with the process. Retro-fitting a sump pump is not a huge project but it can save you thousands in potential damage.
Sump Pump Replacement
Are you taking care of your sump pump? Do you know when it was installed? Every homeowner with a sump pump should replace their pump every 7-10 years, depending on their maintenance schedule. Replacing your pump BEFORE it fails, is the cheapest insurance policy you can buy.
Sump Pump Maintenance
Sump Pump Maintenance is a simple process that most homeowners can do themselves. We get it. Most people would rather spend a few bucks instead of doing the dirty work. Sump Pump Gurus is here for you! Annual maintenance is a dirty job, click here for self serve info, or click here to schedule a visit.
Sewage Pump Replacment
Sewage Pumps Stink! But they don't have to. Sewage pumps are rated for 5 years of regular use...in a basement where you are only servicing a small bath, it really depends on usage. The most common problem with sewage pumps is what gets flushed. To avoid issues, we recommend replacing your sewage pump every 7-10 years.
Sewage Pump Maintenance
Maintaining your sewage pump is a dirty job, but one that will save you in the long run. Opening the pit, cleaning out the tank and insuring there is not too much grease build-up on the sides of the pit and float will guarantee it will run when needed. Something as simple as a piece of dental floss can wrap around the impeller and cause your pump to fail.
French Drain Installation
If you live in the {city name} area, you probably have a basement. If you have a basement, you probably have a sump pump. If you get water in your basement, you probably need a french drain. A French drain is a simple, gravity fed system that catches the water before it has a chance to enter your basement. If you have basement water problems or want more info, give us a call.
Dry Well Installation
Dry wells are just what it sounds like, its a hole in the ground where we can put water. There are a couple of ways to accomplish this but, usually we dig a big hole, backfill it with large stones and insert a liner that will hold 55 gallons or more (multiple can be connected together). We then divert the water, either roof/gutter run off or sump pump discharge into the underground 'well' where it can sit and sink into the ground.
Backup Sump Pump Systems
Backup Sump Pumps come in several varieties and we have our opinions on each. Having an auto fail over generator to run your electric sump pumps is always our favorite choice, but its not always an option. Battery backups will keep your basement dry in a power outage as effectively as a water powered backup. At the end of the day, whether you install an automatic backup or have a plan for when the power goes out, being prepared is the key.
Foundation Crack Repair
Do you see that crack in your basement wall? Right now it is as good as it will ever be. They don't fix themselves. Cracks in your basement wall are caused by hydrostatic pressure, pushing against them. As groundwater slowly sinks through your yard, sometimes it can't move as quickly as it is accumulating on the surface. This causes hydrostatic pressure. Water is looking for the path of least resistance which is often in your basement.
